ask me anything

What are the start and end times of the season?

Start time: Wednesday, June 14th, 12:00 UTC

End time: Depends on PiggyBank

What changes are there in Season 2?

The main changes in Season 2 are primarily related to the PiggyBank

  1. The countdown for the PiggyBank will start on the first day of the game.

  2. The starting prize pool for the PiggyBank: 12% of the remaining BNB income in S1 = 1.35 ETH.

  3. The native token (ETH) is now airdropped once daily instead of the previous 3-hour intervals.

  4. Each individual address can play a maximum of 100 rounds this season

How many types of prize pools are there in the game?

What is "Daily Ranking" and "Airdrop"?

The DEGEN airdrop is distributed daily based on a ranking system that operates on a 24-hour cycle.

The settlement time for the daily ranking: 12 PM UTC.

After the daily settlement, the TVL of the pool will be reset to zero, and any $DEGEN staked the previous day cannot be swapped into the pool. Your daily earnings are determined by your staking strategy for that day.

It is important to adjust your staking strategy within the 24-hour cycle based on real-time changes in ranking and staking. At the end of the day, you can start a new round of gameplay. For a more rational and controllable strategy, check the daily reward amount and stake accordingly. If there are more rewards available, stake more to increase your share of the daily rewards.

How can I rank high in the daily ranking leaderboard?

If you want to make it to the leaderboard, here are the most cost-effective methods --

  1. Break into the top 50

Achieve high scores in the game to enter the Hall of Fame leaderboard.

  1. Stake at the earliest opportunity each day

Stake at 12:00 AM UTC to be among the first participants. This allows you to secure a significant portion of the early airdrop by filling up the pool quickly. Achieve a high ranking in a pool early on, which will be visible to other users, encouraging them to follow suit.

This creates a virtuous cycle. These strategies aim to maximize your chances of ranking high on the leaderboard while keeping the costs at a minimum.

What should I do if I'm late today?

Please note that there are a total of 24 rounds of DEGEN airdrops and 8 rounds of ETH airdrops each day, but the airdrops are not evenly distributed across all rounds! The last round of each day (12:00 PM UTC) is different from the previous rounds --

  • Higher airdrop allocation: It accounts for 13.75% of the day's total.

  • Increased randomness: 10 pools are randomly selected from the leaderboard to evenly split the rewards.

Therefore, even if you're late, you can still participate in the last round of airdrops based on the staking activity of that day!

The whitepaper mentions "TVL reset." Does that mean my staked $DEGEN is gone?

No! Clearing to zero only means that the TVL rankings for all pools on the daily leaderboard are recalculated. Your staking data will still be recorded on the "Season Leaderboard" and will not disappear.

The clearing to zero only applies to the "Daily Ranking" airdrops. The ranking for the jackpot prizes is still calculated based on the total TVL from the beginning to the end of the season.

Clearing to zero occurs daily at: 12:00 PM UTC

So, what happens to the staked DEGEN?

The staked DEGEN tokens will be burned and corresponding airdrops will be distributed over the following two days. The daily airdrop allocation is sourced from the staking volume of the previous day and the day before.

The total airdrop allocation for DAY3 is calculated as:

(0.2 * total staking volume on DAY1 + 0.7 * total staking volume on DAY2) * 1.1

Note: If there are remaining undistributed airdrops from DAY2, they will continue to be distributed on DAY3. For example, if most pools have negative TVL during the settlement of DAY2, it may result in incomplete distribution of airdrops.

Do I have to stake within today to receive today's airdrop?

Yes, the total airdrop allocation for today depends on the total staking volume from the previous two days. The amount you can receive from the airdrop is determined by the quantity you staked within today.

👉ðŸū Example

Let's say there is a pool A on the HoF. The total staking volume from two days ago is 100, and the total staking volume from yesterday is 200.

The daily ranking airdrop starts at 8 PM today. Within the 8-9 PM hour, I staked 3, and other participants collectively staked 10 into pool A. By 9 PM, pool A ranks 1st on the TVL leaderboard.

So, the portion I can receive from the airdrop at 9 PM is:

(3/10) x (proportion received by the 1st-ranked pool X%) x (100 * 0.2 + 200 * 0.7)

------------

Between 9 PM and 10 PM, I didn't stake any additional amount, but other participants staked 10 into pool A, increasing the total staking volume to 20. However, by 10 PM, pool A's TVL ranking dropped to 2nd place.

So, the portion I can receive from the airdrop at 10 PM is:

(3/20) x (proportion received by the 2nd-ranked pool Y%) x (100 * 0.2 + 200 * 0.7)

What is the relationship between TVL, Tribute Amount and Airdrop Amount?

TVL primarily affects the ranking of pools, while the Airdrop amounts depends on the absolute value of the staking amount. They are different aspects.

The staking amount includes the value of "buffs" and "curses," which have positive or negative effects. These values affect TVL, which in turn affects the ranking of pools.

The absolute value of the staking amount directly influences the Airdrop allocation.

------------

Curse -> has a 5x impact on TVL

The pool owner buffing themselves -> has a 5x impact on TVL

Example

Let's say a pool is created by player A.

A buffs himself by 10 → 10 * 5 = +50 TVL

B curses by 5 → -5 * 5 = -25 TVL

C buffs by 20 → +20 TVL

⮇ïļ

Pool's TVL = 50 - 25 + 20 = 45, which enters the ranking and participates in today's Airdrop distribution.

Pool's Airdrop allocation = 10 + 5 + 20 = 35

Distribution shares: A_share = 10/35, B_share = 5/35, C_share = 20/35

Follow-up question: Does buffing oneself with a 5x impact on TVL also result in a 5x Airdrop allocation?

NO! Whether it's buffing or cursing, they only affect the numerical value of TVL, which in turn affects Airdrop and Jackpot rewards associated with the TVL ranking.

The impact on Airdrop is that if your pool's TVL decreases, its ranking decreases, and the allocation of Airdrop rewards decreases as well.

Can I still earn airdrop from cursing?

YES! The person who curses can also receive earnings. Cursing is also a form of tribute.

However, please exercise moderation-

If you curse a pool's TVL into negative territory, it will not be eligible for the airdrop rewards of that round! If such a situation occurs, you can switch the cursed $DEGEN to another pool.

Under what circumstances can you be on the leaderboard but still unable to receive the airdrop?

If a pool's TVL is cursed to be <=0, then it will not participate in the airdrop for that round.

Note: If the TVL is 0, it also can not claim the airdrop.

-----------

Example

During the airdrop round from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, if a pool's TVL is -1 at the 10:00 AM settlement, it will not be able to receive rewards for that airdrop round.

Note: Any unclaimed rewards will be rolled over to the next day's airdrop allocation and distributed on that day.

Is each airdrop round evenly distributed among the pools on the leaderboard?

No! It is distributed according to a certain proportion

For each round in the first 23 hours: 3.75%

For Last round of daily airdrop: 13.75%

If the TVL of a pool becomes negative, can I exhume it without paying $DEGEN for it?

Yes! But please note that the exhume price is based on the total TVL of the pool for the season, not the daily TVL.

The total TVL for the season is not easily cursed to become negative unless it is a new tombstone. Therefore, every new tomestone generated in the game has a 2-hour protection period.

What is LAST HIT in the PiggyBank?

Example

Scenario: The PiggyBank is currently in Round 80 with a progress of 4.8/5 BNB.

Action: I play a game and spend 1 BNB, causing the PiggyBank to upgrade to Round 81 with a progress of 0.8/5.1 BNB.

Result: I am the winner of Round 80, and the LAST HIT for this round is 0.2.

Reward: The value of Round 80 * 8% = 5 * 8% = 0.4 BNB.

How is the price for exhume determined?

To purchase someone else's tombstone, you need to use ETH and DEGEN. If you have a shovel item, you can get a discount.

----------

When a tombstone is purchased for the first time, meaning it is bought from the creator, the cost is as follows:

  • ETH: The amount of ETH spent on that game round * 2

  • DEGEN: 10% of the current total ranking TVL

---------

When a tombstone is not purchased for the first time, the cost is:

  • ETH: The previous BNB payment price * 1.4

  • DEGEN: 10% of the current total ranking TVL

What is the purpose of a shovel? How can I get a shovel?

The shovel item can be used to get a discount when forcefully buying or selling someone else's tombstone.

Shovels randomly drop in the game. The shovel is a consumable item and can only be used once.

How can I exhume someone's tombstone at a more favorable price?

If you have the shovel item, both ETH and DEGEN can be discounted.

One common strategy is to curse a pool to decrease its TVL, and then buy it at a price of 10% of the TVL. After the purchase, you can transfer the cursed portion away.

Note: Make sure to perform the transfer before the daily UTC 12:00 settlement time. Once it passes 12:00, you won't be able to transfer your staking anymore!
